Hyderabad – February 1 (Urdu Leaks) In an unconventional demonstration, an auto driver ignited his vehicle in front of Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Wickremarka in Hyderabad, after being dissatisfied with his fare. The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Begumpet, right outside Pragati Bhavan.
Protests have been ongoing among auto drivers against the provision of free travel for women in RTC buses since the Congress took control in Telangana. In a unique act of dissent, 45-year-old auto driver Deva from Mehboobnagar district parked his auto in front of Pragati Bhavan, where he poured petrol on the vehicle and set it ablaze. Security personnel near Pragati Bhavan promptly apprehended the auto driver, managing to extinguish the flames, but unfortunately, the auto sustained irreparable damage.
