Hyderabad, In a crucial review meeting held at the Secretariat on Saturday, minority representatives appealed to the Telangana state government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, to prioritize the implementation of a four percent reservation for minorities in both education and employment sectors.
During the meeting, Muslim leaders voiced their concerns and presented the pressing need for allocating adequate funds in the upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025. The funds are intended for the development of minority educational institutions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities for all communities.
The representatives specifically highlighted the importance of safeguarding Wakf lands, urging the government to take measures to protect these properties. The protection of Wakf lands has been a longstanding demand of the minority communities, and their appeal in the review meeting sought to ensure the preservation of these assets.
Additionally, the minority leaders emphasized the need for the state government to maintain law and order effectively, with a particular focus on preventing communal disharmony. They stressed the importance of creating an environment where all communities can coexist peacefully without any threat to their safety and security.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, presiding over the meeting, received gratitude from the minority representatives for his positive response to their demands and requests. The acknowledgment of the government’s willingness to address the concerns of the minority communities was met with appreciation, fostering a sense of collaboration between the government and the minority representatives.
The Chief Minister assured the minority leaders that their concerns would be taken into consideration during the formulation of the budget for the upcoming financial year. The commitment to inclusive development and equal opportunities for all citizens was reiterated, highlighting the government’s dedication to building a harmonious and progressive society.
As the state government gears up for the budget allocation for the fiscal year 2024-2025, the expectations of the minority communities rest on the implementation of the proposed four percent reservation and the allocation of sufficient funds for the development of minority educational institutions, marking a pivotal step towards fostering inclusivity and social equity in Telangana.
